Technology 6 years ago

I love it when Facebook does “On This Day”. 4 years ago i wrote “it’s good to know my Cleveland Browns are only 15-20 players away from being a good  football team”.  Still too soon to be funny.

I just went back to see what i posted in my blog “On This Day” and discovered that 4 years ago i used Instagram for the first time!  I felt so clever in 2012. What’s actually surprising is that Instagram is still around 4 years later.

Today Instagram and i took this photo of the wine that my wife was drinking tonight. A lovely blend of 65% Cabernet Franc,  25% Carmenere, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile for under $10.

and turned it into this photo

My French copper pots look cooler and the dribble on the label looks cooler. Heck, even the wine tasted better. Okay, maybe i was drinking Irish whiskey … but my wife assures me it tasted better in the second photo.

Beer Art

I thought it time to share this wine bloggers favorite beer –  Newcastle Brown Ale.

Yes, Instagram again – just to keep my friend Phil envious of my iPhone – and here is my attempt at beer art

While it says “serve cool” I actually prefer it closer to room temperature – makes me feel like I’m sitting with CS Lewis discussing theology.  Hey, good idea to start an Ale & Theology club. I’m calling The Wooly right now to set it up.

iTechnology for my iBlog

A  free app for my iPhone is changing the photos I take for this blog (and Facebook) – at least until I find the next great app to replace it –  Instagram.

Instagram is used by my personal hero Jamie Oliver and the even better Gennaro Contaldo (Jamie’s fantastic Italian chef friend). They post photos of their food almost every day using cool filters and lenses from the app. This is beginning to feel like a linktrap crossover blog post.

These wines were very good too – great Cab from Chile and a smooth Dolcetto d’ Alba.
